Room ratio

There should never be more adults (researchers, parents) than kids in a virtual or physical space. Plan ahead of time so that your protocol doesn’t require multiple adults to be present nor on-screen, if you are working with fewer children.

Why this technique
Kids may be hesitant to really explore a product when they feel intimidated by many adults watching them.
