Encourage without validating

Remain neutral with responses such as “Okay, so you just tapped on _______” or “So what would you do next here?” rather than “Good job!” if kids look to you for a response during the session.

Why this technique
Kids will often look to you to see if they are “doing it right,” and your reaction might sway their behavior, influencing your results. Try to remain neutral and be encouraging if they seem hesitant, without validating that they took a “correct” or “incorrect” action.
