Silence is golden

After asking a question, silently count to ten in your head before asking a follow-up question or moving onto another part of the playtesting session.

Why this technique
It’s important to be okay with silence because kids may be thinking during that time and need a few more moments to put their thoughts together. If you quickly probe or ask a follow-up question, they may clam up further. Give them some space and you’ll be surprised about what they share.
