It’s easy to pay attention only to the things you want kids to do with your product, so you can revise the design accordingly. However, don’t overlook the things that kids try to do but the product may not be designed to allow.
Why this technique
The things that kids are naturally trying to do may give you a window into what makes sense to them cognitively, what is appropriate for them developmentally, and what is otherwise meaningful to them so you can better design for their needs and move towards promising design directions.
